information

LOA, UTAH is a town in and the county seat of Wayne County, Utah, United States, along State Route 24. The town has a total area of 0.9 square miles (2.3 km²), all of it land. Loa sits besides the only source of water known as Spring Creek, which springs up 4 miles to the north where today is located the State fish hatchery. The Drinking water in Loa comes from a spring near Road Creek.

Loa (also Lwa or L'wha) are the spirits of the Voodoo religion practiced in Haiti, and other parts of the world. They are also referred to as Mystères and the Invisibles. They are somewhat akin to saints or angels in Christianity in that they are intermediaries between Bondye (Bon Dieu, or good god)—the Creator, who is distant from the world—and humanity. Unlike saints or angels however, they are not simply prayed to, they are served. They are each distinct beings with their own personal likes and dislikes, distinct sacred rhythms, songs, dances, ritual symbols, and special modes of service. Contrary to popular belief, the loa are not deities in and of themselves; they are intermediaries for a distant Bondye.

SULLY'S PUB & BOARDING HOUSE;
Located in the heart of Loa, Sully's is a saloon-style bar and boarding house that has served as a safe house for hunters since the early 1970s. Originally owned and operated by John Sullivan, it is now in the hands of his son Jack. Sully's can house up to 5 boarders at a time.

Employees; Jack Sullivan (Owner), Alex Brennan (Bartender), Maria Castillo (Cook), Ryan Sullivan (Chef).

THE BAKER'S DOZEN MOTEL;
It's all about the cozy here at The Baker's Dozen. The name has changed with every change of hands, but it still has the most comfortable and affordable beds in town. There's cable, air conditioning, extra pillows and a ghost story attached to some of the rooms, but if you know the type who usually inhabit them, those don't tend to be true for too long. It's also the only place in town where you can rent rooms for long periods of time if you're planning on staying a while.

THE LITANY;
Health food stores have nothing on this place. Run by a witch, the remedies here are never just for healing, though there is a wide variety of that. If you're interested in the occult, The Litany is the only place in town you need to visit. From books to crystals, incense to animal skulls, everything you can imagine tends to be within it's walls.

Employees; Marisol Lopez-Villanueva (Clerk), Noella Gonsalves (Clerk).

THE ROOM IN THE BACK;
Unlike those psychics you see on TV, this guy is the real deal. So why not make some money? Hours of operation match The Litany, which The Room In The Back is attached to. Appointments are never needed as he tends to know when you're going to be there.

Employee; Cooper Murray (Owner//Psychic)

PAWN SHOP;
Some folks find themselves down on their financial luck more often then they like. Located on the corner near The Baker's Dozen, Pawn Shop sees all sorts of people pass through the doors. The employees are kind, keep quiet on who walks through the door and never question the sometimes hard decision of selling items that were once held near and dear. In some cases, they hold onto items too, just in case things begin to look up.

Employees;

THE CHOP SHOP: GARAGE AND GAS STATION;
Just at the edge of town stands The Chop Shop. At first glance, people find the place a little dingy, but the operation as a whole is pretty good. Cars are fixed in the amount of time first perceived, and tend to run better then expected. And the gas seems to always be dirt cheap. It's easy to sell it as such when you're the only gas station for miles around. So whether you're looking for directions or just to top up, The Chop Shop is there to help.

Employees; Evan Reves (Mechanic)

CARREFOUR NOIR;
Located on the major crossroads in Loa, Carrefour Noir is the town's one and only Gentlemen's Club. Owned and operated by Jeanette Noir, the establishment serves both as what she calls a 'house of sin' and the perfect spot for her to subtly continue working as a Crossroads Demon. It is also a safe-haven for any supernatural being or hunter who wants to keep to his or herself and the second floor has rooms for anyone willing to pay to stay.

Employees; Jeanette Noir (Owner), Caleb Louvel (bartender)

KCYQ: THE BEAT 97.7
Loa's #1 Hit Music Station. In fact, it's the only music station in Loa. What started out as college radio soon became the hottest thing to hit the airwaves. Focus Communications took this as an opportunity to branch out into other media outlets, quickly buying up the small station with the promise that there would be no change in the programming, just fine tuning in the whole broadcast.

Employees; Black River (DJ)
