DRAMA

RP drama is inevitable. However, this doesn't mean disputes can't be handled civilly between players. If players are unable to end a dispute between themselves, they should contact the moderator at the mod drop box.

Individuals that start drama will only be given one warning before being dismissed from the game on the second offense. The same is true of those who are found to be participating in and/or encouraging drama. There will be no exceptions - ooc drama will not be tolerated here.

OOC/MARY SUES/GODMODDING

Players need to be sure they have a firm idea of their character's personality and the game's premise before applying. Likewise, players should make sure they're staying in character.

Mary Sues/Gary Stus and godmodding are also not allowed. Yes, some of the characters are supernatural beings, but they are not gods. They can be hurt and killed.

If any of the above is seen happening with a character, the player will receive two warnings before being removed from the game on the third offense.

SPELLING/GRAMMAR

Both spelling and grammar are important, so looking over your post before hitting submit never hurts. If you use Firefox, there should be an inline spellchecker already installed on your browser. With this, your browser will point out misspelled words as you type, à la Microsoft Word. This should successfully prevent a majority of spelling issues.

CHARACTER LIMIT

Players are currently only allowed 3 characters max (although this number is subject to change). Players seeking any additional characters must allow two weeks between applying for a new characters, although an exception may be made for extremely active players.

ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS

Players are expected to post at least 1 journal entry or log every 2 weeks as well as keep up with replies to other characters and threads. Activity checks will occur on Sunday every two weeks and a list will be put up on the OOC community listing journals that need to make a post or risk removal. Players who have not made a post or participated in a thread by the following Tuesday will be removed. Characters that make this list more than two times in a row (or continuously meet the bare minimum to resist removal) will be given a warning for not meeting activity requirements. After a warning, this character will be removed on the second offense.

HIATUSES

Hiatuses are allowed. Constant hiatuses could result in your dismissal from the game. However, this will be dealt with case-by-case (constantly being busy with school is a lot different than not having access to a computer for a certain length of time).

SHIPPING

Slash, het, and femmeslash are all permitted. However, there should be no tilt towards any particular orientation. Keep in mind if your character is anything other than heterosexual that they should be played as the setting requires.

Also, bear in mind that character relationships need to be born of an agreement between both players, as well as believable. If players seem to have joined solely for shipping purposes (and are disregarding other parts of the game for it) or are forcing certain ships on other players they will only receive one warning before being dismissed from the game.

PBS

There should be a suitable amount of clear icons for your character. Try here for a complete list of icon makers and tips for uploading multiple icons quickly or transferring icons to a new account. Please no Suicide/Gods girls, E-Famous people (Jeffrey Star, Audrey Kitching, Hanna Beth, etc.), dead celebrities (that one is a personal squitch factor. I just think its almost disrespectful) or friends who think they're models.

PLOT

Plots should be created with the pervasive storyline in mind and the RPG should not be used solely for any one purpose (shipping, for example).

Major plots (death, rape, and pregnancy) should be run by the mod.

JOURNALS

Entries posted in journals are viewable to friends unless stated otherwise.

Strike-outs represent text that has been scribbled out.

Privated text should be formatted as follows:

[Private to Recipient's Name Here]

Text here.

[/Private]

It should always be assumed, unless stated otherwise, that if a private is not addressed to your character (s)he cannot "break into" the other characters' journal.

Make sure to clarify the recipient(s) of a private addressed to certain characters. Saying something like "close friends" is too vague. Instead, list the names of those the private is addressed to. Established character groups (such as those on the character list), however, are acceptable.

THREADS

Thread headings can be formatted as follows:

CHARACTERS: [Who's involved this scene.]
SETTING: [Where and when (morning, evening, between what events of the day) the scene is occurring.]
CONTENT: [For simplicity's sake, you can just use 'No Adult Content'/Worksafe or 'Adult Content'/Not Work Safe. Adult Content is, of course, graphic sex or violence. State which (graphic sex or violence) applies to a post labeled with Adult Content.]
SUMMARY: [A short summary of the scene. Maybe what it's trying to achieve, what spawned it into being, and etc.]

INVITE ONLY
As of January 10th, [info]deathechos is now an invite only community. What does this mean for you? It means that new members will be required to have at least one pre-existing, solid storyline in place before joining the community.

What does solid mean? It means that the line should have some history. If your characters are exes, somewhere in the new character's biography it should have mention of why they are exes and maybe the state of their relationship now, if there is one. Just as friend lines should have some explanation as to how close the two characters are, how they met, etc.

This is to ensure that current members of the community are getting their lines filled and that new members will have at least one solid line before entering. Feel free to utilize [info]sanswinchesters, our storyline community for seeking lines as well as ad communities like [info]pbads.
